(New York, NY - February 15, 2012 ) Open Road Integrated Media (www.openroadmedia.com), a digital publisher and multimedia content company, announced today that Tina Pohlman is joining the company as Publisher. Pohlman, a former VP and Publisher at Crown and experienced editor who has worked with a broad range of critically acclaimed and bestselling writers, will lead Open Road’s editorial services, expansion into new verticals, and acquisition of new titles. Pohlman's first day will be March 5th and she will report to cofounder and CEO Jane Friedman, who made the announcement.
Open Road’s growing team of experienced and well respected publishing executives will report to Pohlman. Over the past month, the company announced the appointments of Nita Taublib as Strategic Advisor for Romance, Betsy Mitchell as Strategic Advisor for Sci-Fi and Fantasy, and Marjorie Braman as Consulting Editorial Director focusing on E-riginals and select backlist genres.

Pohlman brings a wide range of editorial and management experience to Open Road. Pohlman was formerly Vice President and Publisher, Trade Paperbacks, at the Crown Publishing Group, a Division of Random House, Inc. She began her editorial career at Houghton Mifflin in 1993 and went on to work at Vintage/Anchor, Carroll & Graf, Harcourt Trade Publishers, where she served as Editorial Director of Harvest Books, and Spiegel & Grau. Over the course of her career, Pohlman's authors have included MacArthur Fellow and NBCC finalist Colson Whitehead, Man Booker Prize finalist Patrick deWitt, National Book Award finalist Christine Schutt, and New York Times bestselling authors Rebecca Skloot, Temple Grandin, and Natalie Angier. She has also worked with a number of literary luminaries, including Amos Oz, Chinua Achebe, and Naguib Mahfouz, and overseen the treasured backlists of writers such as Virginia Woolf, Eudora Welty, and Daniel Keyes. In 2009 Tina founded Moulinarn Mobile Books LLC, a digital publisher and software developer of literary content for sale in the iTunes App Store.
