This position will develop the eBook acquisition program of Open Road
Integrated Media Children's along with the Assistant Editor and the
Advisor, Children's Books. The Children's Acquisitions Editor will
evaluate and acquire authors and titles to further add to Open Road's
fast-growing children's eBook list spanning Young Adult, Middle Grade,
and Picture Books. The Acquisitions Editor will also be involved in the
acquisition and publication activities for Open Road Publishing Partners
and frontlist YA E-Riginal titles. The Acquisitions Editor will work in
conjunction with cross-functional teams at Open Road to ensure
acquisition goals and timetables are met in an innovative, fast-moving
environment.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Liaison with agents, authors, estates, and other rights holders during
the acquisition and publication of Open Road's ebooks
- Manage the negotiation process of Author Brand contracts, in
coordination with Contracts Associate and outside counsel
- Research and evaluate potential title set acquisitions using BookScan
- Coordinate with in-house Editorial and Managing Editorial team to
ensure fast transition of titles from acquisition through production
- Coordinate with in-house Video Production and Marketing teams to
initiate marketing asset development and marketing plans for each author
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in editorial acquisition in children¹s book
publishing, preferably in a commercial publishing environment
- Strong agent and author relationship skills
- Understanding and engagement in the digital publishing area
- Ability to work toward individual and team goals in a rapidly changing,
fast-scaling startup

- Will report to Advisor, Children's Books and work closely with
Assistant Editor, Managing Editorial, Marketing, and Video Production
teams.

Online Retail Manager
Open Road Integrated Media is seeking an experienced candidate for the role of Online Retail Manager. Candidates with digital, ebook and/or e-retail sales experience who thrive on breaking into new businesses in a start-up paced environment. The successful candidate should have strong sales experience dealing with online retail, have a passion for selling, and be comfortable working with a variety of publishing lines including trade adult, children’s, digital first (E-riginals) and iconic ebooks. The ideal candidate will also have first class negotiating and communication skills.
Responsibilities
• Play a leading role in maximizing the sales performance of a growing list of titles from this premier ebook publisher
• Retail management of a key range of online wholesalers, retailers, and educational suppliers in the ebook marketplace
• Responsible for establishing, coordinating both with retailer and marketing team, all retail promotions for all e-retailers on an ongoing basis
• Responsible for following up with managing editorial and retailers on all promotions
• Overseeing contractual delivery of ebooks for authors as well as supplemental purchases
• Working across all ORIM departments, including marketing, video production, business and operations
• Staying up-to-date with new retail merchandising, promotional opportunities, and technological advancements

Digital Marketing Manager
This position will help lead Open Road Integrated Media’s marketing and promotion efforts. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing online and offline marketing campaigns, creating marketing content for distribution, coordinating promotions with etailers, and working directly with authors.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following categories:
Marketing Plans and Campaigns
• Develop and implement marketing plans and projects for new and existing authors
• Work with team members on larger theme/holiday promotions including video
• Provide feature enhancement priorities for the ORIM marketing platform
• Create quarterly reports for ongoing campaigns
Social Media and Mobile Marketing
- Participate on ORIM social networking

The managing editorial intern assists the managing editorial department in a number of tasks related to ebook and POD production, including data entry, preparing hard copy files for digitization, device QA, departmental administrative tasks (mailing, scanning, etc.), and some proofreading.

Primary Responsibilities
Enter descriptive copy and other metadata as needed in title management system
