Part-Time Retail Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Digital Merchandising and Sales Manager in the day-to-day management of online wholesalers, retailers, and educational suppliers in the ebook marketplace 
  • Help establish retail promotions for e-retailers on an ongoing basis 
  • Develop marketing materials for promotions
  • Work across all ORIM departments, including marketing, video production, business and operations to support marketing efforts
  • Work with large amounts of information in Excel
  • Track and collect data for marketing campaigns
  • Enter related data and images into marketing platform

Required:

Senior Marketing Analytics Manager


Open Road Integrated Media is seeking a Senior Marketing Analytics Manager. The successful candidate will oversee the web, marketing asset and advertising analytics and be part of the marketing and interactive production teams. This exciting new role will combine gathering requirements for data collection, working with developers for build out of the ORIM marketing platform as well as guiding the strategy for the company’s analytics dashboards.

Primary responsibilities

  • Gain strong knowledge of various data sources and define requirements to optimize reporting and operational efficiencies
  • Create and manage web reporting 
  • Create ad-hoc reports and analyses
  • Create KPI dashboards for executive management
  • Work with developers and interactive production team to implement and optimize tracking schema
  • Track and analyze user behaviors
  • Make recommendations to Chief Marketing Officer on how to improve performance and maximize KPIs
  • Define templates and automation tools for re-occurring reports and analysis to increase the efficiency of the department


Required Qualifications
  • 5+ year quantitative analytics experience in a digital direct-to-consumer or B-2-B environment.  Content based and/or online analytic experience is desired
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills including a strong understanding of online marketing metrics, data sources, database mining, etc.
  • Previous experience in analyzing new customer acquisition, retention, lifetime value, and trends a plus
  • Ability to create ad hoc spreadsheets and statistical graphs
  • Extensive hands-on interaction with computer systems, database applications, and analytical tools.  Will include advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Analytics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with individuals at both peer and management levels
  • Ability to succeed in a fast paced, changing environment that requires the ability to “multi-task” and implement high priority initiatives
  • Strategic acumen coupled with a high attention to detail and the ability to audit his/her own work for accuracy and quality


Educational Background Required:

Proofreaders

Open Road Integrated Media has openings for part-time freelance proofreaders to work with its managing editorial department to take on 1–2 projects per week (flexible). 

Proofreaders will assist the managing editorial department in finding and correcting all conversion errors and applying typographic and grammatical consistency to backlist titles across a variety of genres.

General Internships

Founded by former CEO of Harper Collins Jane Friedman and Producer Jeff Sharp, Open Road Media looks to have strong minded, focused, and willing to do what it takes to get the job done interns for Summer. This internship program is offered for credit only, and offers unique options for students.

You may apply for a general internship where your will have the opportunity to work in all departments. For those who already have a focused interest are encouraged to apply for a specific internship in our editorial, publishing, production, or marketing departments.

Our program includes monthly walk-throughs of the company's agenda and workflow. Giving students the opportunity to not only step into the middle of projects, but to understand where it all starts and finishes. There are bi-weekly intern discussion groups where overall progress is discussed. This also offers
An open and safe place to discuss intern projects and expectations.

This is an extremely competitive internship with only 10 slots available. Only serious and determined applicants need apply. Extreme interest and background in literary fields and post production are a plus.


Ad/Promo Design Intern

Open Road Integrated Media has an opening for the spring semester for an ad/promo intern. Intern must be able to receive school credit. 15 to 20 hours per week in its design and marketing departments.

The ad/promo intern will assist the design department in a number of tasks related to ebook and POD marketing, including creation of banner and other Internet ads, print ads, back-of-book ads, posters, postcards, and miscellaneous in-house materials. Will aid in preparing files for press, purchasing and sizing stock art images, and departmental administrative tasks such as file sizing, folder organization, and presentation prep work.

The design & production intern will assist the design department in a number of tasks related to ebook and POD design and production, including typesetting book interiors, inputting editorial corrections to books, assisting with branding projects, preparing files for press, purchasing and sizing stock art images, and departmental administrative tasks (scanning, folder organization, etc.).

  • Add cobranding to existing covers; create cobranding templates as needed
  • Stock image and rights research

Projects and Responsibilities May Include
  • Developing content for ORIM website and internal use, including video and photos
  • Assisting with new project development, scheduling and deployment of online content

Managing Editorial Intern

Open Road Integrated Media has an opening for two unpaid (school credit) interns to work 15 to 20 hours per week in its publishing operations department.

The managing editorial intern will assist the managingeditorial department in a number of tasks related to ebook and POD production,including data entry, preparing hard copy files for digitization, device QA,departmental administrative tasks (mailing, scanning, etc.), and someproofreading.

The managing editorial intern will report to the managing editor and work closely with editorial, production, and design team members.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Enter descriptive copy and other metadata as needed in title management system
  • Create title and copyright pages

  • Perform quality assurance of Open Road titles on major reading devices (iPad, Kindle, and others)
  • Check current Open Road titles on Apple, Amazon, and other major etailers to ensure they are active and display the correct metadata

Additional tasks may include optimizingInDesign files for output to ePUB, implementing updates to existing ebook files(i.e., swapping in new covers, inserting back ads, making corrections), andlinking and bookmarking PDFs for distribution to retail partners.

The digital production intern will report to the managing editorand work closely with editorial, production, and design team members.
